This year, I learned about the Vermont Independent Bookstores Passport program and I thought it was a wonderful idea to travel around my state and visit these vital local businesses. The premise of the program is to visit the 24 independent book shops across the state and, as you hit different milestones, you qualify for fun prizes along the way. I love meeting and talking with people, so I thought visiting these bookstores would be a great opportunity in the age of COVID to socialize and let people know about The Well Spring Tree, my most recent book!
So far, I have visited Antidote Books in Putney, Village Square Booksellers in Bellows Falls, Phoenix Books in Rutland, Yankee Bookshop in Woodstock, Northshire Bookstore in Manchester Center, Blair Books & More in Chester, Vermont Book Shop in Middlebury, and The Book Store in Brandon. I especially appreciated a follow-up note I received after my visit to the Yankee Bookshop. They informed me that my books are available for purchase through their website! If you are thinking about giving the gift of a book this holiday season, please consider supporting the Yankee Bookshop! You can also find my books at the Vermont Country Store in Weston as well.
I look forward to making another post as I make my way around to the other independent bookstores in Vermont. You can also follow my Vermont Independent Bookstore Passport journey on my Facebook page. Please like the page and follow my updates there as well!
